Introduction and welcome
Approval of survey items
- Theme was determined as “Different Aspects of Health Librarianship” (approved by Catherine)
- Format of the meetings for the 2008/ 2009 will be half business/ half workshop
- Next workshop will be CHLA/ABSC Halifax Conference update by Becky.
Events
- 2nd Annual Search Unconference will be scheduled for this term. The on-line poll will be arranged.
- Beginning of term social is scheduled at the end of September; suggested date was September 26th (approved by Nazi & Becky)
- Guest speakers from different aspects of health librarianship will be invited. Members suggested an academic librarian or librarian from Surrey Public Library.
- Organizing library tours for this year; tour of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia (organized by Vera), Children's & Women's Health Centre of British Columbia (C&W) (organized by Morgan)
Prepare on-line poll to set monthly meeting schedule
Collaboration on different events with SLA was suggested by Jovy
Several members volunteered to take responsibility as event coordinators throughout the year
Financial Issues
- Members were updated on financial issues by Becky. The plan is to become an individual group and official AMS Club. This way CHLA/ABSC will be founded by AMS directly.
- Maureen suggested contacting CHLA / ABSC to seek financial support; she suggested inviting different vendors to sponsor different events organized by CHLA.
