Meeting minutes:
- Catherine chaired the first meeting and Xuemei agreed to take turns on chairing later meetings.
- Catherine suggested the format of meetings for the 2008/2009 term
- half business: for the group to gather together to make purposeful decisions.
- events planning, e.g. have professional people in or tour to health libraries (suggested by Maureen)
- build up the group’s social atmosphere
- half workshop: members and interest students can benefit and have a reason to come to,
- watch demo
- get chance to do presentation
- have job fairs all year long
3. Events Planning for 2008/2009 term
- theme is going to be determined through an on-line poll
- tentative Events
- 2nd Annual Search Unconference
- Beginning of Term Social
- Invite HLABC members (the first week of Sept.)
- guest speakers from different aspects of health science librarianship?
- workshops/seminars, Health online databases and Web 2.0 etc. (Dean discussed potential of Web 2.0 for librarians)
- prepare on-line poll to get membership opinions and ideas.
4. Recruiting members from SLAIS students through

- LIBR 534 first class this fall (Xuemei Li, other volunteers welcome)
