Jackie MacDonald is a health information professional, and currently a Privacy Officer in the Quality, Risk and Patient Safety portfolio (rural western Nova Scotia health services) with management responsibility for Library Services. Jackie has been a tutor librarian in McMaster's How to Teach Evidence Based Clinical Practice workshops for many years. She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled The Information Sharing Behaviour of Health Service Managers: A Three-Part Study and her PhD was granted by the Information School at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. MacDonald has been an LIS educator for several years and she has been engaged as both a researcher and practitioner. MacDonald's other current professional activities include the Search Standards Working Group and the 2015 International Symposium of Health Information Management Research (iSHIMR) Program Committee.
