- By 2010, there were 425 confirmed deaths of H1N1 (Human Swine) Flu in Canada.
- The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) said the second wave of pandemic H1N1 tapered off subsequently, though isolated cases continue to occur.
- See PHAC's Weekly summary of FluWatch (in French) reports for the latest information.
- For reliable H1N1 information, please consult your local health librarian.
- See this keyword search in PubMed "swine flu" or "H1N1" to browse for biomedical articles.
- The earliest cases of H1N1 Flu Virus (Human Swine Flu) were detected in Mexico in April 2009. In late April, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control declared a public health emergency and warned a new international pandemic was emerging. With the World Health Organization (WHO) and its international partners - including Health Canada and PHAC - steps were taken to contain the virus and to inform the public what they could do to protect themselves.
