"Finding Grey Literature: Issues, Challenges and Knowledge-Exchange" - CE Session

Terri Thompson, Will Durland (Canadian Council on Learning) Dean Giustini (UBC Library)

Grey literature searching is an important part of searching for systematic reviews, yet discovering and collecting it can be a difficult, time-consuming and frustrating task. In addition to addressing key issues and challenges in finding grey literature in the Internet age (such as searching the deep web and dealing with information overload and fragmentation), this workshop will expose participants to useful tools and techniques for locating the hard-to-find (or 'fugitive') literature and provide experts and newcomers in the field with a chance to share their search strategies with each other. In support of knowledge exchange, we encourage all participants who have created lists of quality grey literature websites to bring and share them with their peers.
