Introduction

Diigo is a social bookmarking website which allows users to bookmark and tag web-pages. The basic service can be used for free. "Diigo" is an acronym of "Digest of Internet Information, Groups and Other stuff". The service allows users to highlight parts of webpages with sticky notes. Annotations can be completely private or shared with groups. Premium account holders can search cached copies of bookmarks, tags and annotations. They can omit tags that appear in the text of a page (although text inside images cannot be searched). Its graphical user interface includes an optional bookmarklet, customizable toolbar, and various search capabilities. Highlight is enabled by a menu that can appear when content is selected or be embedded into the menu.
