Dianne Kharouba (retired) was the Director of the University of Ottawa Health Sciences Library until 2011 when she was succeeded by Lee Ann Ufholtz. Her responsibilities were to support the educational and research activities of the faculties of medicine, health sciences and several institutes at the University of Ottawa. Diane previously held several positions during her sixteen years at CISTI, including Systems Librarian and Acting Head, Cataloguing; Health Sciences Resource Centre librarian; and Head, Sussex Branch Library. She holds a bachelor of education from the University of Calgary and a Master of Library Science from the University of Western Ontario. She has held previous board positions with COAHL during 2004 - 2006 and did a turn as President of CHLA/ABSC during 2008-2009.

At the 2011 CHLA/ABSC Conference, it was announced that Dianne would retire in July 2011. Kharouba was given an Honourary Life Membership in CHLA/ABSC in 2012.
