BiographyDaniel Hooker is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the UBC eHealth Strategy Office. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from the University of Wisconsin and his Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from SLAIS in 2010. The eHealth Strategy Office is dedicated to exploring the rapidly expanding role of technology across the health care spectrum, from patient care to health policy. Specifically, Daniel's work includes grant writing and coordination, research design and implementation, and technical support for projects related to mHealth (mobile devices), electronic communities of practice, and medical education. He has held previous positions at the UBC Biomedical Branch Library, CIHC Library, a national repository of materials dedicated to interprofessional practice and the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections. Daniel's primary research interests include online communication, eHealth and health technology and social media. His professional speaking experience includes presentations to the Canadian Health Libraries Association, Health Libraries Association of BC and the Cochrane Canada Symposium.
