The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is the main association for libraries, information agencies and professional librarians in Australia. It aims to empower information professionals in promoting, developing and delivering quality library and information services through leadership, advocacy and support. ALIA's Health Libraries Australia promotes, informs, unites, influences and innovates libraries and information professionals in health and biomedicine. HLA undertakes strategic initiatives in professional development; research and development; networking and collaboration; advocacy; and promotion.
