The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is the primary association for libraries, information services and professional librarians in Australia. It seeks to empower the profession in promoting, developing and delivering quality library and information services through leadership, advocacy and support. ALIA's Health Libraries Australia promotes, informs, unites, influences and innovates libraries and information professionals in health and biomedicine. HLA undertakes strategic initiatives in professional development; research and development; networking and collaboration; advocacy; and promotion.
